The movie was very nice to watch, I was able to watch it in a theater when it first came out which may have helped with the experience. I think that the plotline of the movie really followed the LN perfectly. Of course, while I was watching it I think I lost some of the surprises that came from events because I had already read LN volume 6 where the movie is based on. I still love the NGNL series and I thought the art as always was outstanding while most of the other elements were very good. Overall, I can recommend this movie but ...

Does this movie deserve the ten? Nah

...

BUT WHO FREAKIN' CARES

So obviously I really like this movie. This is everything I wanted out of No Game No Life in the first place. Action, drama, emotion and intensity. It feels like with the series the creators were playing a game of tic-tac-toe, but when they came to the movie they said "Okay guys, time to start taking this seriously" and moved onto chess. I'm going to jump right into why I like this movie so much and why it really needs to be in the top 100 instead of trash like Tenki no Ko.

Let me just say ...

Well this anime was quite a surprise for me. It's in the genre of SAO and that's quite a giant to step up from it but it surely delivered.

A MUST WATCH for any anime fan out their

The story is great starts you thinking; well it's another anime show were characters have been transported to another world. Well sort of but that's were similarities end especially with the main protagonists.

For me Sora got me hooked to this anime with his wit and cockiness it not your usual character to come by. Sort of reminds me of lelouch from code geass

Artwork is amazing to look ...

Story - 5, too much retardedness that didn't make sense. Like why god just chillin' playin' chess and letting this war go on, then after so many people die and the war finally ends then decides to make everything a game world and let the game go on..... Huh???? + more retardedness throughout the story

Art - 10, visually there were no problems to me

Sound - 10, Nothing wrong here in my opinions either, enjoyed the music.

Character - 5, sometimes i liked them other times they were too retarded
'
Enjoyment - 5, enjoyed parts and didn't enjoy others what else can i say.

Overall - 5, not ...

Fortunately, 'No Game No Life: Zero' was screened in my country so I managed to watch it on big screen. Madhouse, you beautiful creature. Bless everyone who made this movie possible.

Let's go with the important question first:
Should you watch this movie?

Those who love or enjoyed 'No Game No Life' or NGNL should definitely watch the movie as it serves a prequel to the said TV series. While it can still be enjoyed regardless of whether you watched the TV series or not, I strongly recommend that you watch 'No Game No Life' first.

Story:

The story takes place six thousand years before the arrival of Sora ...

I watched this movie after remembering the series had a movie, i was super-excited for the movie when it came out. But when personal life kicked in and i just completely forgot about it, it didnt take long before i thought of the series and suddenly the movie.

Im a bit dissapointed, not to spoil anything really. But what happened at the end with the "Main" people in this story, Schwi and Riku.. Im dissapointed.

I really loved the story this unfolds in, but with the ending.. Very sad, but seeing main charachers not coming in the future (or who knows). But still, a bit depresseing seeing ...

Wow, this one was a ride! From the character development to the story and emotions the audience gathers from watching, I give this a solid 10. Like most great movies, No Game No Life: Zero really pulls in the audience and engages them in the story since the first few minutes. The emotions that came with this one was enough to make me almost cry, like this was really good! This movie is does not relate to the original series No Game No Life in the way that it is a sequel, but it is, in a way, a prequel to the series that does ...

One of the best anime movie based on a TV series. I saw this movie back in 2017 when it was released on theatre. I got to watch it again just recently in BluRay. I enjoyed it immensely both times.

Personally, I found this movie to be superior than the tv series. It improved on the tv series in every aspects. Music and animation is top notch. Art direction is superb. Some of the visuals in the movie are breathtaking, appropriately portraying bleak sceneries and events as the result of a planet torn by an eternal war between powerful magical beings. There is a lot of ...

i watched this Subbed back last November in cinemas... it was good but not watching the series subbed before hand, made it confusing a little... and the fact the subs moved quickly in some parts... Finally watching it dubbed nearly 1 year later made me remember how amazing the dub was with Shiro's cute voice... Also being used as Shuvi's voice. This movie is great in sub and dub and now all i want is Season 2.

The characters are brilliant in this, the pacing is pretty perfect, and the story is great all the way through. you feel sad, happy, jealous and what ever ...

This film is GORGEOUS. That's the thing that had me the most pumped throughout this entire experience was how amazing the visuals were. Especially the wide shots of the rooms or landscapes. Absolute perfection.

The rest of it was... well, it was pretty good. I think the story would've done better to be told as a series rather than a film, but I still thought the premise of explaining how the No Game No Life world came to be was a good choice for a prequel. The overall plot was written really well, in my opinion, especially in its metaphors for humanity. The message it ...

I agree with some of the comments the story is a bit rushed but the original story from the novel is too touching even a failed attempt to visualise the scene is still too great. The voice actress was great especially the fight vs jiburilu where she did really demonstrate the determination for her to live. I was expecting a bit more on the fights between different clans and how they actually lead the war to end with more details. I genuinely hope that the movie could be extended by 45 mins to explain the story and more fighting. Nevertheless, I would recommend people to ...

Dude the lore here was so thick. Usually im all for that, but here... nah. It's just too much for me to digest in one sitting. Still, that didnt stop me from loving the characters and story. it just took away from that. The storyline is a bit odd, with small scale going big gradually, but believably. The start is mad confusing, and that more or less continues as the movie goes on, because theres so little explanation for whats going on. Character was great by the end, but unbelievable at times. Still, sad sad story man. Really tugged on my heartstrings. Worked well overall, ...

This is the first anime to make me cry, and i love this movie and the show, this, in my opinion, is the best anime movie i have seen BY FAR.

Don't judge me, i'm emotional

This movie will always be something i go to if i need a story that's not a bloody harem, like 75% of the current anime's that are mainstream. Trust me when i say this, this movie is probably the best 1h 45m I've spent on any sort of entertainment, and that's saying a lot

The movie has a good plot point to it, and i didn't see any sort of bad ...

If I were to describe what I thought of No Game No Life: Zero in one sentence I would say this: I thought it was a good movie, but not a good No Game No Life movie. I love No Game No Life. I love how stupidly over the top it is, I love Sora and Shiro, I love the artwork, I love the music, I love the fan service, so when going into No Game No Life: Zero I expected to get all of that all in one move, but to my surprise, the movie took a different route. Instead, No Game No Life: ...

Want to see a prequel of No Game No Life? Want to realize again that Season 2 is still never happening? Want to hate Jibril even more? Then NGNL 0 is the shet for you!

I watched half of this on Netflix and the rest on Kissanime, but apart from promoting illegal sites this movie was pretty good. It was somewhat of a letdown when I learned it was a prequel and not Season 2, but the movie delivered and ended on a powerful and somewhat promising note. The pacing of it was rather inconsistent, sometimes too fast, sometimes too slow, and sometimes "wait--what the ficudkel?" ...

Story 7/10
The story does have a strong NGNL feel to it, but it also feels rather rushed and as if it wasted quite some potential. The movie may go for almost 2 hours, but you see almost nothing of all the other races. You see flashes and glances of some of them, but nothing really concrete, and even those glances are usually not for very long. The real focus of this movie lies on humanity's struggle for survival... and for what it's worth, what is shown is pretty enjoyable for the most part.

Art 10/10
Simply stunning. As usual, NGNL is a feast to the eyes. ...

tl;dr: A film that is quite distant from the main series both in terms of plot and atmosphere, but manages to still feel familiar to fans due to good use of characters while also simply being an incredibly well made film.

No Game No Life Zero is a distant prequel to the No Game No Life franchise. The world of No Game No Life is one of various races competing, but where everything is resolved through games. A short legend is provided in the original series that explains how that came about, and this film greatly expands upon that. As this film is an explanation for ...

No Game No Life: Zero. No wonder this movie was kinda devoid of life. There were no games. Zero stands for the number of games.

This movie tells us the story of far in the past when the great wars reigned. It tells us how the humans, the least impressive species, managed to survive and how the world as we know it from the anime came to be.

The main characters are reminiscent of Sora and Shiro but there is not much depth to their characters. Maybe Sora and Shiro are supposed to be reincarnations of those two? I guess we'll see sometime in the future.

But ...

I was in love with the No Game No Life anime, it was colourful and beautiful, the characters were funny and likeable, the games were exciting and the way they would always outsmart the opponent were interesting. However, the anime felt like it was cut short and like there was so much more left to be discovered, like Blanks journey was just beginning. I had very high expectations for this movie and I can say, I was really disappointed.

No, you do not get to see Blanks journey continue, in fact the main characters are not really even in the movie apart from a tiny part ...

Bland MC which works as audience stand-in meets loli android which immediately begs to procreate with him (no harm done because it's not really a little girl even though she looks and talks like one!). Some non-human races which we barely see in the movie wage an all-out war for some mcguffin I can't even remember the name of and are on the verge of destroying the world they so intend to rule.
The movie tries to set a dark, solemn tone but I could never buy into it. It all feels like an excuse to delve deep into the writer's loli kinks, as more time ...
